Rant #2 - The Real Job Situation and Work In America

I was sitting at home last night trying to get somewhere on the internet and had to wait because the internet connection was slow and impeded by ... well, something.  Since I have no choice but to go through a cable company in order to get my internet, I can only 'hang in there' while COX (Omaha's cable company) supposedly fixes a problem that in reality, never really gets fixed.  I read an article about it (http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2014/02/06/272480919/when-it-comes-to-high-speed-internet-u-s-falling-way-behind) and the best the liberals can do is suggest more government intervention when it's the government who is all-too-eager to send out their drones and strange states of surveillance - i.e.: I trust the government about as much as I'm able to throw the entire Pentagon across the Hudson.  Now, I'm not going to go on and on about this issue because if you haven't already figured it out, the government, liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, President or Speaker of the House, only seem anxious to strip us of our rights since this seems to put unearned cash directly into their pockets.  And it's the word 'unearned' I want to touch on in this rant.

Now, I'm not writing this to toot my own horn, but I do want to point out specific facts that I actually know as opposed to blind conjecture or reading the news.  And the facts are this: I'm a writer, more than 100 pages into a novel I hope to have completed by late Spring early Summer, I'm a musician pitching my solo work on-line and playing in a band called the Doneofits working on our second album and playing as many shows as we are able to do (good musics too I might add), and for my day job I'm an at-home caregiver and have a spotless reputation in that area simply because I work with human beings and to be 'half-ass' at a job like that is to cause an innocent human being undue pain and suffering.  Point is, I'm DOING all of these things and doing them WELL on top of helping raise five kids with my wife Ashley.  My plate is absolutely full and I don't mind it at all.  I'm busy and enjoy being busy provided I can get something done in the writing/songwriting department.

So I have a crucial question to ask the 'powers that be': the cable companies, the politicians, health care CEO's and leaders, doctors, lawyers, ministers, teachers, and managers, mayors and leaders in the military - - - WHY AREN'T YOU SIMPLY DOING YOUR FUCKING JOBS!?!?  Why in the name of hell is it so hard to move legislation, to provide a stable rapid efficient internet, to provide an entire populace healthy food choices at affordable prices?  Why do I feel that I'm pouring my kids college savings into the gas tank every time I gas up the car because the gas prices are so out-of-control-high and I live in a city where the public transportation utterly sucks ass?  Why are you public power fucks (MUD in Omaha) charging me so much to keep my kids and I warm in the winter when all over the country there are still inevitable power outages across entire city and regional grids during the winter season as if you weren't aware that winter was even on it's way? I guess the 500 dollars I paid last month did nothing to help, but that's what you charged me.

My point is simply this:  I'm doing my job - - WHY THE HELL AREN'T YOU DOING YOURS?

The only thing I think is bullshit is the commercial itself.  America is nothing like this - all these happy healthy interracial friendships and families when in truth America is an extremely racist country with a government that will stop at nothing to nickel and dime the living hell out of us.  I don't drink Coca-Cola anyway but would like to congratulate them on doing such a fine job making an elaborate farce of a commercial spending so much money on what amounts to be an absolute bullshit lie.  Any white American, Latino American, African-American, Native American Arabic American knows how utterly completely screwed we ALL are.  And if you don't know what I'm talking about and have the nerve to  disagree with this sentiment, you best wake the hell up and turn your fucking television off.
